The story of coffee begins where the green coffee bean hidden in the red coffee cherry of the coffee tree , for some they call it magical, and no matter how it was jealously or greedily guarded neither merchants, queens, kings or priests could keep it from spreading throughout the earth. Back when I was a child, Ive tried harvesting those coffee cherries and not knowing that it was the start of my coffee journey. We washed it and dried the cherries under the striking sun of Malaybalay, we crushed the coffee cherries to release the hidden green seeds that was coffee bean.
