When we hear the word “nest” it always feels warm, safe, and comforting. Those kinds of feelings are what we need in this time of the pandemic. We need the warmth of our loved ones, a safe place to be free, and a comfortable scene to commune with nature. This is an ideal vacation story and it is not impossible. One can have a day off at Kookoo’s Nest Ecolodge.
The best luxury you can spend now is the time you share with your family and friends. Our times right now deserve a deeper connection and understanding of each other. The warmth and belongingness keep us on top of our problems. The rustic and relaxed setting of Kookoo’s Nest Ecolodge is the best spot for connection. The bamboo cottages under the greenery plus the delightful food is a great experience to share.
Facing the vast sea right at the mouth of Tambobo Bay in Antulang, Siaton, Negros Oriental feels remote. The resort snugs a white beach cove only for the guest which is limited even without the pandemic. Everyone has ample space to be free. The private cove, the distant location from the main road, and the lush greenery create an atmosphere of being disconnected. However, despite such a situation cellular signal is reliable and the resort’s wifi is strong. It is a safe place that makes you feel away yet still connected.
As mass tourism has been put to a halt, sustainable ecotourism has gained traction. Kookoo’s Nest is at the forefront of ecotourism in the Metro Dumaguete area. Nature didn’t shy away from its beauty around the resort. It is located near the mouth of Tambobo Bay that shelters boat when the sea is angry and also host a lush mangrove forest. Fishermen catching fish just meters away from the cove’s beach during midday. Birds chirp every now and then as your background music. It is a good place to be with nature.
In short, Kookoo’s Nest Ecolodge is what need this time. A nest to share with your loved ones to be free and relax with nature.
Welcome to Kookoo's nest Ecolodge
"More than one hundred steps lead down to Kookoo’s nest Eco-lodge, which is comprised of six beautiful, rustic bamboo beach cottages and rooms, with a central restaurant. They are set in a pocket of woodland that slopes steeply down to the edge of a small secluded sandy cove.
Kookoo's Nest Eco-lodge offers simplicity, relaxation and recreation on the private and sheltered white sand beach, with amazing coral reefs, stunning sunsets and great food.
Our kitchen is the heart of Kookoo's nest where the ladies from the village prepare excellent fresh food for the restaurant.
The cottages and buildings have been beautifully constructed by craftsmen from Antulang village using traditional techniques from locally grown bamboo and the leaves of the Nipa-palm.
A small dive-shop offers tuition and diving on the beautiful coral reefs that surround the peninsula. Snorkelling gear is available for those who do not dive, and Kayaks can be rented for exploring remote beaches, Tambobo bay, fishing village and mangroves.
