"Bamboo forest in Medellin Cebu"

GROWING TALL IN THE NORTH OF CEBU,

this Bamboo Forest is a tranquil nature spot that is now a series of tourist-packed pathways, but if you can escape the sounds of camera shutters and boorish visitors, you’ll hear the rustling, creaking, and swaying of bamboo soundscapes.

This Bamboo Forest is situated in northern Cebu in the heart of Medellin, "The name Medellin is of Spanish origin and refers to the village with the same name in the Badajoz province of Extremadura in Spain. Medellin became a municipality by royal decree of Queen Isabel II of Spain on September 9, 1881.Medellin was formerly part of Daanbantayan. As a town, it started with only 3 barangays, namely; Kawit and Buenavista on the west coast, and Tindog on the east coast. Kawit, being the biggest and most progressive barangay at that time, became the first seat of government. But because of its deep shore water, the area was prone to pirates. As a consequence, the seat of government was then transferred to Buenavista (Daanlungsod). However, in view of its shallow shore water, traders and merchants found it difficult to transport their wares to and from Buenavista. A distance away south of Buenavista, there was a place called Tawagan which was an ideal site for trade and commerce. When the seat of government was transferred to Tawagan, the new Poblacion was then called Medellin."

The main source of livelihood among locals is Fishing and Farming while Tourism plays a promising future. Large tracts of land were engaged in cultivating Sugarcane hence the tagged as the "Sugar Bowl of Cebu". A sugar milling company BOMEDCO is still operating since it was founded in the year 1928. Its mill is located in Barangay Luy-a, Medellin, Cebu. The main product of the company is raw sugar.

Admission fee, regardless of age, is P20.However, due to prevailing minimum health standards, the maximum number of guests is only 300 per day. The bamboo forest starts accepting guests at 8 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. on weekdays. On weekends, they often extend their operating hours up to 10 p.m.

"As the wind passes through the tightly packed plants, the wood bends, and creaks, the leaves rustle, and the trunks knock together, creating a peaceful sound like almost nothing else. That is when the hordes of tourists aren’t drowning it out. "

Be like a bamboo

"Bamboo is flexible, bending with the wind but never breaking, capable of adapting to any circumstance. It suggests resilience, meaning that we have the ability to bounce back even from the most difficult times. . . . Your ability to thrive depends, in the end, on your attitude to your life circumstances. Take everything in stride with grace, putting forth energy when it is needed, yet always staying calm inwardly."

The Journey

"Starbucks ® Single Origin Sulawesi Toraja."

Starbucks Origin Sulawesi Toraja. “Sweet, silky elegance with notes of black sesame and  marshmallows” The history of coffee in Indonesia began with a bit of intrigue. In 1690, Dutch traders smuggled coffee plants out of the Arab port city of Mocha, hoping to break the Arabian monopoly on coffee production. Their sailing ships eventually carried the seedlings over thousands of miles to Indonesia, then a Dutch colony. The coffee trees thrived in the archipelago’s rich volcanic soil and the warm tropical climate, and Indonesian coffees were soon being embraced in coffeehouses around the world. Three centuries later, Indonesia’s islands continue to produce some of the world’s most extraordinary coffees, each with its own terroir, or “taste of place.” The company has been collaborating with the island’s coffee growers since 1996 and helping build the Sapan Kindergarten in Tana Toraja. From the Indonesia’s orchid-shaped island of Sulawesi, coffee in the To

"Starbucks Ethiopia"

The story of coffee begins where the green coffee bean hidden in the red coffee cherry of the coffee tree , for some they call it magical, and no matter how it was jealously or greedily guarded neither merchants, queens, kings or priests could keep it from spreading throughout the earth. Sooner and later we are captured by its aroma, acidity, body and flavor. Just  like the history of coffee,my first encounter was unexpected, from the cold mountain side of Bukidnon. Back when I was a child, Ive tried harvesting those coffee cherries and not knowing that it was the start of my coffee journey. We washed it and dried the cherries under the striking sun of Malaybalay, we crushed the coffee cherries to release the hidden green seeds that was coffee bean. Now, I realize how magical the coffee made my journey up to this day. From the hills of Ethiopia to the Marinas of Seattle, people around the globe drink their wonderful cup of coffee and prepare it in their wonderf
